If you can't put a new zipper in, and I'm assuming you can't, do this:
I hope you can sew, very basic, nothing complicated.
On the side where the zipper isn't catching, pull out the very bottom teeth, 2 or 3 at the most, you probably will have to use needle-nose pliers, then slide the clasp part of zipper all the way down and then with the teeth missing on the other side you should be able to zip it together. Zip it all the way up to the top and (here's the sewing part) sew the bottom of the zipper together, that is, sew it so the zipper will not go past the missing teeth, it will actually stop about 2 teeth higher then it did before it came apart.
I've done this many times to my husbands pants (he has his favs too)
Good Luck!

1-in the bottom of the zipper there is a metal clip, open apart its teeth with a small screwdriver or scissors, then take it out,
2-slide the clasp part all the way down below the last tooth and remove it away.
3-put the 1st tooth of each side in one eye of the clasp body, pull the lower teeth-free strip inside it till they both came out/down.
4-catch them tight and slide the zipper up.
5-reinsert the clip leaving some teeth below it, if need, put some tightening stitches.
