Is is because the braintrust of the republican party need a moron in order to pursue their goals? Or is he really that stupid as to think he is succeeding in his job?

I think that he has a lot of trouble to deal with made by past governments and anyone who comes into power will have to make decisions that many people disagree with. No matter who is president, there will be people that love him (or her) and hate him (or her). You're just on the other side of the fence now.
Sounds like you should go into politics and do your part to make a difference.... but as a politician you have to choose your words carefully... and when you do, make sure that they are spelled correctly.

Like a lot human beings, sic, he was spoiled and abandoned as a child by his parents who hired other people to be milkmaid, stepmother, potty cleaner, first date and so forth.
Bush has never once done anything worth a dam except be a back slapping comedian for a bunch of back slapping good old boys who are jealous of Georgie and afraid of him because of his father's connections. Face it, Georgie has never done anything by himself except fail.
Georgie is one sick puppy at this moment because he is buried in his own private mess and wondering how it could have gone so wrong.
Those in the Republican Party who saw Georgie as a ticket to stay in power have been caught in their own trap. If you specialize in saying one thing and doing another, eventually not even your hired Psychiatrist can explain what is happening to you and all your pretty little schemes.
The Republicans are at a crossroads, are they real, or are they nothing more than a punch beggars acting as salesmen for high powered money grubbing corporation crooks, out to fleece the public?
Unlikely that the Republicans will change until they actually find themselves up on the North Slope of Alaska, political, without a shovel.
