My children were playing games on the computer and did something; now I have no lower task bar. I am talking about the bar on the bottom with start menu etc. I have XP. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Thank you so much.

here is some thing very help full if you cant get the start menu first preses the button in between the cttrl and the alt button at the left side of the key board then your start button will give you the menu and then your task bar will temporally be up then right click it then click properties then you can explore around for the task bar and restore it
PS:if your kids mess up your computer again this is what you should do go to start and then go to programs then click accessories then go to system tools and then click system restore that will bring all your settings back to the way it was when the window pops up you should create a restore point after you fix your task bar so here's a example you created a restore point and you have 2 files if they get deleted and any thing els happens and you want all the files back so you go to system restoree and you go to the restor point that you made it will repair all the stuff to the way it was when you made the point.
PS:it automatically dose create a restore point when you install or uninstall any thing for any more questions or help email me at kirbyfan@wowway.com

They probably just dragged it off the desktop.

Move your cursor down to the bottom of the screen. It should change to a black double arrow. Hold down the left mouse button and drag towards the top of the screen. (you won't have to drag very far)

If the cursor doesn't change to a double arrow when you move it to the bottom of the screen, try either side and the top. You can put the Taskbar wherever you like just by dragging it.

try bringing your cursor to the bottom and if the taskbar pops up then right click on it select properties and uncheck the auto-hide the taskbar option.

It could be in the hide state.. to bring it fixed back wait till it pops up and then goto the properties after right clicking it then uncheck auto hide...

if the first thing didn't work, then move the cursor down to the edge slowly and see if it turns to arrows, then hold down the mouse and drag it up, they may have shrunk it down

goto taskbar & startup options in the control panel and remove the things which are not allowing ur taskbar to be seen by jus deselecting the tick box.. and select only wat is necessary..
