I originally had an older Gixxer, 92 750 to be exact. However, I sold the bike 3-4 yrs ago. I'm ready to ride again and think going to a 600 might be a disappointment so I'm looking at a liter bike. Also, I'm assuming the newer 600's are probably faster and handle better than that old 92 I had. Am I o.k. stepping up to a liter or should I stick to a 600.? I have just noticed that I can get a little older 1000cc for the price of a newer 600, so why not.

Buy a bike that suits you most, handling, fuel consumption. etc.

Here a little tip.
GO for a Honda, Honda machines have a more reliable engine.
Suzuki bikes hav high deppreciation value.
As for Yamaha, Do not but the R1 (whichever model)
I been riding R1 since 2000. despite a couple of models later, the problem is still the same. The Yamaha Block cannot withstand 80000km life span. In other words its as good as 2-3 year useage only !.
European bikes are a little expensive though.

I would strongly reccommend the CBD954. Its more reliable than the CBR1000.

Believe me. I've been doing inter state riding here in Asia. And nothing beats the Honda, interms of reliabilty and performance.

Cheers.

Bike Lover.

all of the liter bikes are out ragas as well as the 600 class I say you should get a newer r6 for the rest of this season if you like it then keep it if not sell it in the winter and get a 1000 i say r1 because i love the hell out of mine and it also depends on what kind of riding you want to do if you are into tearing up the corners like me then you will want the 600 because you are less likely to slip the rear in a corner but if you will have chicken strips on your tire then the 1000 is fine because all you are really doing is looking good and what looks better than a 1000

MV Agusta F4-1000 is probably the best liter bike money can buy right now. However, they're extremely expensive. If you wanna go with a jap bike, I would say the Gixxer 1000.

easy answer. Get the one that feels best to you. They will all(Honda, Kaw, Suki, Yam)perform beyond you're wildest dreams. If you go with used: if it's literally like new you might be OK; otherwise, spend the bucks and have it checked out. tune-ups, carb work, injector work is all really expensive enough to turn a good deal into a not so good deal. any body skin is expensive beyond belief.
