30,000 children die every single day in third world countries..that's 10 9/11's every 24 hours.. yet rarely is this reported..there is no war on needless child deaths..there is no memorials..no minute's silences etc

Therefore why is that a rich person's life is deemed (albeit in an unspoken manner) to be more important?

Does accident of birth not denote where a person is born and to what environment.. child a did not achieve being born rich any more than child b desired to be poor.

Life is not like a game of monopoly where we all start equal and make good with a combination of skill and luck - which to me makes it really awful that such statistics still feature in contemporary world.

Rich people are bred and molded and are taught that they are better than everyone else and they are the only ones that matter. Sickening I know but I have run across plenty of people with money that just seem to despise someone of my stature, I mean I ain't living in my own filth and stuff but I definitely ain't rich by any means either. Now all this blabbering on my part is just my opinion of how things are and as I see them. America could give a hoot less about third world countries, unless they have something that we can exploit just to make some bigwigs back home here get more money than they really need. Peoples lives are worth more than any amount of money, although what they charge for insurance and everything else to keep you alive and kicking they certainly can rack up the cha-chings. I would hope that sometime in the future, it won't probably happen in my lifetime or even my great grandchildrens either but hopefully everyone can be of the same status and things could be better, but probably not perfect by any means.

Paris Hilton is worth more, and therefore more important than the poorest child in Africa? Of course not, her wealth, like the African child's poverty, is an accident of birth. Its just that we usually read less about the poor than about the rich; because to many, the lives of the rich are exciting! I've never seen a soap opera placed in a ghetto. But "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" type shows have been very popular. Lots of us would rather live in the dream world of a spoiled, privileged few than deal with the life and death struggles of the millions. Sad but true.

Natural disasters and the death of many through famine, etc is not given a minutes silence because we would not have any other time.
Rich people contribute money to these poor people to make themselves feel better.

It is because the situation with the children is sorrowful but redundant, yet a death of a celebrity is broadcasted, for celebrities have many admirers and seldom happens

The life of a wealthy person is "worth" more than that of many poverty-striken people because of "The Golden Rule."

Those who have all the gold make the rules.
