Ok you have NO one to turn to, so you are forced to RENT a place (no parents help), & for some reason you have no credit cards, Oh & to make things interesting no gov aid either.

Nowadays in Calif. at least, it would be impossible I think. Gas is too expensive, as well as everything else.

I know that I couldn't be able to. Given that I need day care for my daughter to allow me to work, probably almost all of my paycheck would go to cover that expense. I definitely wouldn't be able to afford a car payment or a house payment living on minimum wage. I probably wouldn't even have any money left after I paid bills and rent - minimum wage is a joke and congress needs to act to get it raised.

Well even a min. wage job would be wonderful right now. My husband got hurt at work, and now he can't work and I'm a student. But even when he was working, no, we really couldn't, except that we live on my parents property and he was making a little over min. wage. But he was only part time.

If I absolutely had to, yes. I might not be able to live where I want or drive the kind of car I want, but I think I could do it. You do what you have to.

yes you can.but it is very hard, You learn to buy just the basic things you need. I had to children so had 2 jobs.

Yes, as long as I wasn't married/joined, didn't have children, and controlled myself (spending limits).
