There is no national holiday in August. However, the first Monday of the month is a civic holiday and it is treated like a statutory holiday.

Emancipation Day Aug. l and Independence Day Aug 6. August is also National CAtfish Month, National Eye Month, National Golf Month, National Peach Month , National Romance Month, National Blueberry Month and National Water Quality Month.
