@Jasto. I know that too. Just curious cause we're discussing this every day now. I'd feel terrible also about giving my baby away to strangers.

Look in your local phone book and contact the daycare centers in your area for prices. They do vary.

None of my kids ever spent a day in a daycare center and their social skills and all that are just fine.

Putting your child in daycare does not mean anything...that is just a resource for people who have to work to provide for their children or just need someone to watch their kids while they have an errand.

I only let relatives watch our kids because we do not trust daycare centers whatsoever with our kids.

To each their own.

jasto is not 100% accurate....parenting magazine says that putting your child in daycare can actually bring up your babys social skills, motor skills, and speech skills. And i believe it....my son and i are socially isolated bc i have no friends or family within traveling distance....we went on vacation to my familys for 2 weeks...came home and my son can almost walk....he can say ice, six, and he tries to say his name but it sounds more like eggs (his name is gaige)...so day care isnt intirely bad........my son is 9 months and i am starting my first job this coming wednesday....we live in the keys and for a regular daycare center its 180 a week for a newborn (under a year) an at home daycare the lowest ive found is 130 a week. if it was up to me i would be home with my son but some people just dont understand that not every family is financially blessed with the ability of letting the wife stay home and take care of the kids

Ignore him. Daycare is a personal choice, and children do need it, particular in their toddler years, to learn how to appropriately interact with their peers.
As for the price of daycare, it ranges greatly from one center to the next, depending on whether or not they are accredited with NAEYC, the size of the facility, and what is/is not included (meals, etc). Hours per day, days per week, age of your child. In my state, the ratio for ages 3+ is 10:1, and birth-3, 4:1...You need to call specific centers to get information on rates.

the cost of day care is that a child is less attached to mommy, mommy is less attached to baby, daddy approves less of baby, baby's iq goes down, baby can't get breastmllk on demand which it needs for its brain development and to prevent diabetes.

the cost of day care is a kid who is sadder, more anxious, less intelligent, less attached, less smart, and less skilled socially.

this is not my opinion. this is the evidence from decades of research.

your baby needs your arms and your milk. you are bringing this baby here - make sure you give her her birthright.

you will never recover your relationship and she will never become the person she was meant to be if you put a child under 3, and usually under 5, in day care.

the cost is too high.
