Rather than play with acetone... just take the trap apart, and knock the foam out.

If you have a plastic sink, or plastic pipes definitely do NOT use acetone, or any other solvent.

Great Stuff is is known for having to be 'worn off', when you get it on yourself, heheh... I prefer to use the DAP product... it cleans up with soap & water... I know that's of no help to you now, but in the future... hehehe.

If you DO use acectone, (finger nail polish remover usually has acetone in it, by the way)....you should then follow up with a moisturizer, because it will dry your hands out terribly. (Ive worked with the stuff on a regular basis)
Also NO SMOKING!! even a static electricity spark is enough to cause acetone to flame up. Be careful with it.

Good Luck!

I'd give Acetone a try. That should take it off your hands.

Acetone makes water evaporate, so if your sink is full, drain as much as you can first. Then, pour in the acetone and wait awhile.

If you have those cheapie PVC pipes, keep an eye on them. Acetone could make them a bit soft.

If the clog isn't in the P-trap or near the sink, you may need to route out the drain (call Roto Rooter or another plumber to do it).
