Let me explain something to all the young white suburban teens who have been misinformed. There is no difference in the word n!gga, and ******. It's just how are accents are. Like in new york and in the south where im from, we dont pronounce the letter R really. Don't say it unless you were raised like that because youre just gonna cause problems.

I dont think so, even if you are black. Changing the ending on the word does not change the meaning either. I don't think Martin Luther King would appreciate hearing that word being used. People who lived during the civil rights movment would be offended as well. I don't know why it's been made popular to say to one another. It's also silly for blacks to tell everyone else that they can say it but no one else can when it's said over and over in rap songs that all different races listen to and sing along to.

Perhaps in certain contexts for "special effect" to emphasize a point or to mock a racist attitude, but to use it to actually insult another person, NO, NEVER! I would never use it or any racially insulting word to another person and don't care to hear it. If you're black yourself and among friends and you all tend toward rowdy smartmouth fun, then that's up to you.
An example of when I'm thinking it might be okay in "certain contexts", as I called it, is in the way the word "massa" is used sarcastically to belittle and mock someone's racist and controlling attitudes, as in " I sorry, massa, I bin a bad litta n!gga, I be good."
I see that Yahoo doesn't care for the word either. That's good! I tried to spell it with the letter " i ", but it got *starred* out in the preview, so I came back and changed it to the way you spelled it.

I am mixed Cherokee and Irish, AND I grew up in a time when
N igg a, n i g g e r, blacky... MANY other terms were chosen and usually ended up with the USER of the word getting smacked up side the head!
IT is offensive to me to this day to hear the slang word
n igg a...so many African American people fought defending themselves against this use and now it is used within their own circles!
That to me is like one American Indian calling another one RED SKIN!
OR to all MALE Indians as CHIEF and all ladies as SQUAW! BAD!
So yes it offends!
BUT in actuality ***** is black in Spanish.

If you have to ask then something is telling you it is not totally correct, so to be safe don't say it.
Some people may be offended by it, and some people are not offended or choose not to let it bother them, so, in respect for the people that are sensitive to the word it would not be appropriate to say it.

no because it is considered as impolite. my journalist cousin told me once that it is proper to call them "black" instead of ***** (or *****). i think it has something to do with the era wherein the blacks are being shipped from africa to america or to some other place to be slaves. those people called the blacks negroes then so i think the word ***** has been associated with black oppression over time. :(
