Would you hire someone with an acne-infested face to work at the ProActiv stand? Or an overweight model to advertise Slim Fast?

Before getting hired at Hollister, I owned exactly two polo shirts & a hoodie from there. I usually shop at Forever21 & DEMO. So I'm usually wearing Ecko Red, Baby Phat, Rocawear or FOX. I'm not the skinny or blonde. I'm 5'5", 140 pounds, curvy & brown. But I got hired because I portrayed their look by wearing that polo shirt and denim miniskirt to the interview. The only time I wear Hollister brand clothing is when I go to work.

I don't think it's wrong. Let the company do what they want to do. The people they turn away can find another job some place else. It's not like Abercrombie pays big bucks anyway. I see no point in crying over minimum wage.

From my experience with both companies....mind you this is throughout the States.....I have only seen what can be determined as the "pretty people"....the girls are rail-thin mostly, athletic type of bodies and "normal" sized breast - no fake ones-

The guys are all athletic type, spiked hair, and fairly tan....almost the surfer boy type....

But to the companies defense...they do have an image to portray and like it or not ..... image does sell. This is just business and you learn this in Business 1301.....sorry to all of you that have put in for employment and were turned down.....

It's not wrong. The people who work in the stores are representing the brand. And if you don't have that look then why are you wanting to work there anyway? People are just way too quick to sue these days...

It's their store I think they should do whatever the hell they want. If they suffer from not getting the business of ugly fat people then that will be on them.

I've heard that you have to submit a headshot. May just be a rumor though, but I'd believe it.

Is that how it works? I had no idea. If that's true, then yes that's wrong.
