Doesn't it just say that God created all the animals on the 5th (?) day. In that case the chicken would have been fully formed.

Gods first creation wasnt either the chicken or the egg.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. If you look at it from a christian point of view, the chicken. God created all the animals in one day and they all came out just like they are, none as babies, or in eggs. If you look at it from the evolutionary point of view, then the Chicken. The first life to form was most likely fromed by a bunch of different molecules, and it was just single celled. So if you go down the evolutionary chain, you'll eventually get to chickens.

It's the egg. Chickens only come from chicken eggs, so the first chicken had to come from a chicken egg, even if it was a mutation from the parents (I know this brings evolution into it but it is the correct answer)

Chicken because God let Adam named all the animals.The egg wasn't an animal ,it was just that....an egg.But then none of us was there.Though I do strongly believe it was the chicken.
