when people started to get more stuff and had no where to put the stuff, we all have too much stuff and that is why at any given time you could be wearing clothes with about 15 pockets, pants 4, vest 2, jacket, 5,top coat 4 some of which are hidden inside to protect our stuff!

Don't know where your from but in this part of the U.K. PANTS are the word for underwear! Now I don't have any pockets in my pants so I imagine you are referring to trousers? They needed to put pockets into trousers because people started to complain everytime they put their coins in that they fell to the ground.
