Here are four ideas that I use:
1. (I find this works best) get some oil of wild oregano from a local health food store and put a few drops under your tongue to the back. But be warned..it is VERY strong tasting, hot and nasty...sorry...but it always works for me and it is also a good way to head off a cold.
2. still kinda nasty, but not as intense; gargle with a tablespoon of apple cidar vinegar in a half cup of water. repeat every half hour until the soreness is gone completely.
3. (this one is a classic) make a drink of hot lemon juice and honey. fresh lemon in hot water with honey. It is soothing to the throat and the honey has some antibacterial properties. it is often used by singers to keep the voice in top condition. you can add a bit of garlic (an aquired taste) to help ward off the cold too.
4. This one is an old home remedy we have used since we were kids. Take about a teaspoon of salt and dissolve it in warm water..about a half a cup I think (do not make it too strong, I forget the exact ratio..you want salty tasting without being too strong). Then gagrle with it. Kids can use this one too and it is not too nasty or strong tasting.
Anyway, hope one of these helps.

Gargle with warm salt water. Put a cotton ball in the ear if it hurts. I was told that peroxide helps alot. Use throat lozengers. If all fails go to the emergency room, Mention that you have a primary care physican they'll check you to see if it is strep and if it is they will prescribe antibotics for you. I've struggle for years with strep throat badly, I just got over it. It is too painful. I hope this helps. Get better.

At the first sign of a sore throat I gargle with Braggs apple cider vinegar and let a bit trickle down my throat. You can do this as often as needed. Another remedy is doing the same with Swedish Bitters, an herbal tonic. I have personally tried both these remedies and found them to be useful.

salt water gargle. You put about a tablespoon of salt (preferably sea salt, but table salt will work) in a glass of warm water. Once its disolved you gargle with it. Gargle each mouth full for quite a few seconds and then spit it out. This will numb the area as well as kill the surface bacteria. If its really hurting I'd do this every hour. It doesn't taste good but you should have quite a bit of improvement after the first couple of times.

Yike - be sure to see Doc on Monday.
Try some tea with a spoon full of honey. The tea will be good for you and the honey can coat your throat a bit. Stick to soft foods only. Avoid anything the least bit scratchy.
Gargling with salt water is a good idea too. You can even mix in a few teaspoons of peroxide to help kill germs, but don't swallow it and rinse with plain water when done.

Gargle with hot water and salt, this out to stop it. At least three times a day. Let the salt solution stay in your throat for awhile , this kills the strep bug. Only for adults.

I spent years on the road as a singer, and constantly battled throat infections. The # 1 solution (and I tried them all) is gargling with hydrogen peroxide (3% solution) Tastes yucky, but extremely effective.

Gargle some Saline solution and use lozenges. Your best bet is to keep drinking fluids, espicially hot ones, and you might get past this. If you have a strong immune system, it won't even affect you.

Gargle with warm salt water, and suck on zinc tablets. Zinc tablets and vitamin C can be bought over-the-counter at any local drug store. Hope you feel better.
