What do you want more? Chips, and fatty foods, or to be thin?

Make a choice.

You have an addiction problem, and it is triggered by your hands. You must look at when you eat and then what you eat. If you are a smoker then as soon as most smokers get somewhere they don't know what to do while they are let's say waiting for a bus. So they pull out a cigarette, light up and then they are doing something. Problem solved. You are the same way but with food. Start watching tv then you have to eat or do something with your hands or your mouth. Chips and fatty food are easy to get as they are sold everywhere. Try doing something with your hands like squeeze a tennis ball, chew gum with your mouth or eat low calorie popcorn, no salt, no butter and see what happens. It helps to have will power to say no to fatty foods!

Well, life it tuff but hey. You can eat chips, just buy lower fat ones.. and fatty foods, just keep them to a low. But the best thing now is just to exercise more and more....start out small, and work to the hard. start trying to eat less fatty foods, and replace one time you eat it with fruit or some veggies. then one day you'll be healthy and thin.

Try increasing your activity or finding low fat snacks.

Quakes, the little rice cakes crackers (especially the Soy Crisps kind), are light and lo-cal, but they taste like you're getting a really substantial snack.

Try cooking more on your own; then you get to control what goes into your food. Think more along the lines of seasoning over butter, baked over fried. If you can, vegetarianism is a great way to knock out a ton of calories, but you have to make sure you get your protein elsewhere--beans, tofu, nuts, that sort of thing.

Basically the less processed and more fresh your snacks, the better they are for you. Celery and peanut butter, apples and caramel--even with their not-so-great combos, they're better for you than a bag of Lays.

But they make baked Lays now, and those are actually really good, along with baked Cheetos, baked Tostitos, and baked Ruffles. Raising your activity and lowering your caloric intake will put you on a gradual, healthy weight loss program.

I have the same problem. And what I do, and the same way I quit smoking is, I take each craving one at a time. You won't change over night. But if you just stop right before you grab that chip, and make a decision to not have it. You have succeeded!! And the next time maybe you slip, but only have 1/2 as many as you would have normally. Take each event one at a time. Make the decision in the moment. It takes a long time to change your behaviors, but you can do it. You are the only person in control of your action, it's your body, take controle of it. Good luck!!

If you don't stop eating fatty food, you won't get thin. Fatty foods slow metabolism, so you burn less calories when working out.

Get some salsa and Middle Eastern pita bread. Cut the pita bread into triangles and bake in oven until crispy. Add Mrs Dash spice (not salt). Dip into salsa and it is like eating Nachos in salsa. Only there is no fat.

This actually has worked for me.....stop eating whatever is your "problem" food for 30 days. At first it'll be hard but each day it'll get easier and easier. After the 30 days the craving will be gone and you won't want/need it anymore. I haven't eaten cookies in 2 years and I don't miss them at all.

Honestly, you have to find suitable replacement foods/snacks. I use Rice cakes, Wheat thins or unbuttered popcorn, stuff like that. If I don't like the taste, I can choose not to snack. Don't allow fatty snacks in your house.
