how do you define the dark side? the man who shoots another is a hero to those who support him and a monster to those who oppose him. much of it is simply perception.

the only real darkness is within yourself; the things you have to face alone about yourself that need to be faced.

we all love to whine about everyone else's failures and dark side, but we forgive ourselves for the same things.

truth is, everything everyone does, they believe is the proper and justified option to take at the time. nobody wakes up and says 'hmmm.. today i will be incredibly friggin evil'

everyone thinks they are the good guy and the one opposing them is the bad guy. throw god into the mix and you've got a bunch of monkeys swinging clubs at each other.

the only real darkness is the darkness you must face within yourself; your belief that your hatred is justified, your belief that the nasty things you do are justified, your belief that the other 'side' deserved it.

you cannot force everyone around the world to be peaceful happy bunnies.

but you can kill the hatred within yourself and become an example for others to learn from.

the same reason night-time is essential to the individual human- it's just your classic duality principle, everything requires an opposite, so the "dark side" is essential, because you wouldn't have a "light side" otherwise

I would say in some instances, having a dark side is essential for survival.
If you *have to* kill someone out of self-defense or to save your loved one, then let the dark side SHINE!

Without the dark side we cannot gauge the good side. We would be nieve and not know that there were bad in the world. We would not be able to see danger because we would not know about evil and pain and dangers.
