The nicest thing someone has said was that they considered me their sister more so than their own. That I had stood by them when their life was falling apart.

As a nurse, lots of patients & families say many wonderful things; it makes the job worthwhile & rewarding.
But the best thing came from my own father, who once told me, J***, you have the most amazing insight into human nature. I'm proud to have you as a daughter & a friend.
I might add that he devoted his life to trying to understand & help others, as a minister, counselor, even a college level sociology instructor. So I counted that as pretty high praise coming from a man I love & also respect a great deal!
(And he & Mom are still two of my dearest friends in the world! :-) )

When the man I love told me that I was his best friend...I almost lost it. All the sweet and beautiful things he's ever said about me could never compare to the honor of that. This means so much to me partially because he lost his very best, lifelong friend in a terrible car accident and I know he has never really replaced that guy...so when he said that to me it meant more to me than anyone, even he, could ever imagine. I still get tears in my eyes thinking about it.

I overheard the Director of Operations say to someone he was speaking to on the phone that, "MS. ***** is like a breath of fresh air to this company. She has brought so much insight, input and inspiration."
I walked away and cried in the ladies room. I will never say anything else about his bad haircut. That was 3 yrs. ago

The last two weeks, I've been helping a friend through a tough time and she thanked me and said I was objective, caring and compassionate.

Once my dad was telling my sister how get along with her coworker at her job. She said why don't you tell her (me) how to act, and he said "she doesn't need to learn how to act "

I'd have to choose between "I hate you" and
"You're ugly"
*Sorry, not many nice things have been said to me*
