Craftsman is the best buy for the money. They are made by MTD, But so is Cub Cadet. My grandfather still has his first Craftsman and it is 18 yrs old, and it runs as good as my three year old model

Go with Craftsman because Sears is the number 1 store in helping and supporting our troops. They also stand behind there merchandise better than most stores and also have extended warranties.

Craftmans are in fact (like stated above) made by ayp (owned by electrolux..... which owns husqvarna, poulan, weedeater)
About the only thing mtd sold at sears is the idc 2 cycle engine (spark plug at the bottom of the engine)
They are a good deal for the money....
Mtd's are throw aways, aka made to die machines..... not worth the money..... white, cub, troybilt, bolens..... all mtd.
Cheap construction.....
Ayp's are not hard at all to work on.

Yes... that is... but John Deere is even better. All my step-dad's tractors are John Deere... and he's been a farmer for 25 years.
