i'm working on a large paper about the transition of post-communist countries, especially Kyrgyzstan. When I explain my subject to other people, I almost always have to say where the country is situated and what kind of country it is... i want to test the yahoo-public to see if they know it so...
tell me yes or no, and tell me whatever you want of the country...

without doing a search, I am aware that Kyrgystan is one of those countries that gained independance from the Soviet Union in the late 1980's - 1990's, so I would gather it is somewhere between what is now Russia and China.

The religion is probably Islam, suni muslum, and the population probably in the range of 4 to 6 million. I would think that, since gaining independance, English is spoken by many people as a result of tourism.

My sister just got back from Kyrgystan! She was there for 3 years and actually married a man from there. Any way its between Russia and Asia.
