Zidane needs to be forgiven? For what? He didn't do anything wrong. Unless standing up to your beliefs/family is considered "wrong."

From what I read later on, Zidane head-butted the other guy because the other guy insulted his mother, something like calling her a "whore", I believe. I can see how anything would make a player snap during a World Cup...the pressure is intense, you're exhausted from playing, and you're probably a little frustrated, as well...I don't blame Zidane for what he did. I say, what's done is done...no need to stay angry at the poor guy.
Hope this helps to answer your question :-)

Zidane had a great career but he was the captain. Captains aren't picked over skill. It's leadership and sportsmanship. Zidane went way over board. He virtually made the whole world rethink over his career but he earned such a reputation that people still love him. But, it was way out of disorder for him to act in that manner.

IT WASN'T HIS FAULT! If you knew what the Italian jerk did to him you would feel differently about Zidane. The whole thing was a plot by the Italians to win--they had to get their best penalty kicker out so they could win the cup.
To me Italy didn't even win.

It was a very emotional time for him considering it was his last meaningful game and he had just had an injury scare with the shoulder. He just lost his cool for a second, that is understandable and certainly forgivable.

Well , He did nothing wrong to ask for forgiveness , He defended his pride and dignity , sometimes you don't have the choice , So you have to do what is right , even if the whole world think it's wrong . Zizou is the greatest .

Nope, not me.
All the guy said is...if you read his lips on tape: "Hey, friend, what's the score? Do you have a lovely sister?" That's what he says in Korean language if you slow down the tape and play it backwards. Try it.

It wasn't right what he did, but I have to forgive him for all the magic moments on the pitch. He is (was) the best and the greatest footballer.

of course he can be forgiven but to lose your cool at such a crucial moment of a championship match must be considered the most bonehead play of the world cup..it will forever be a blemish on his wonderful career
