Blocking services from the router WRT54GS.?

Question

is there any way i can block internet services specifically yahoo services like webcam, all sorts of chat and yahoo.com itself. I also want to block services like torrent downloading like bit comet. are there any alternatives aside from blocking it from the router? i just want to limit the internet here for productivity purposes.

if you are knowledgable about blocking services, I would really appreciate it if it is thouroghly answered. thank you very much in advance.

That's not an application layer gateway, so you generally can't do that at all with that box.

If you want to do that, look into IPCop. It's a customized Linux based firewall that you install on a spare PC. You'll have to add one of the Squid add-ons to control Internet access but once it's up and running it works very well.

You'll use this in place of the WRT54GS but you can still use that as a wireless access point.

If i"m not make a mistake WRT54GS he have a firewall who permit to do filtering based by mac addresses , ip and port (look at the following address).If this don"t enough download a Linux distribution with user interface and install firestater firewall which is easy to install and configure.
