Issues of perception?

I am doing an independent study project and want to know what types of questions I could possibly research addressing issues of perception and incorporating visual puns into the project. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Give somebody the "finger" and ask them what they "perceive" to be worng with you
(the visual aid will help)
