I'm not sure if it will work for deer but to keep cats and dogs out of my garden.
steep i chopped garlic bulb and 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper in quart of water for 1 hour. Add one teaspoon of liquid soap to help the mixture stick to the plants. Strain portion you need into watering container and sprinkle on leaves. The rest will remain potent for several weeks if kept in a jar with a lid. also there are certain plants you can plant that will discourge dear.

Been there. No other solution, only 6-8 foot fence. Dogs, liquid fence, flags etc they laugh at. They are very hungry and thirsty now. We built a fence and now we have beaufiful native plants and flowers. Sorry, but fencing is the only solution. If any consulation, we thought a fence around the house would make the house look like we were in a prison. It doesn't it looks natural and nice, we build it out of native cedars and regular fence (without barbs). I would be so sad to get home see they had taken their tongues and stripped off all vegitation and left only a tiny little stub of a plant...now I get up every morning and see new blooms, if your a flower person you will love it.

The deer don't like Marigolds, but they do like Impatiences . So when I dead head the Marigolds I toss the marigolds heads around the Impatiences and the Deer are no long eating my Impatiences!!!!! Yippy so that has worked for me. I have aslo put human hair around other plants & shrubs ,the deer don't like the smell of that either. Go to any place where they cut hair and they just give it away,at least in my town . Good Luck

There are motion sensitive sprinklers that will squirt the deer when the come too close. I live in a city with no deer, but thought it would be funny to set one up in my front yard aimed at the sidewalk. Sit in a car across the street and film the reactions.

Repel deer by hanging fresh sheets of Bounce Classic from your fence posts, shrubs, or trees. The fragrance(oleander) keeps deer away. Misting the Bounce Classic sheets with water every so often revives the scent.

I had a similiar problem as well. Most deer I know of are very jumpy, lol. Take pie tins ( from frozen pies and even the smaller ones from the chicken pot pies ) and hang a few together in a fashion that they hit each other, much like a windschime. They hate that sound.

Shoot the deer. Have some venison steaks.Mmmmmm.
seriously..I use an electric fence around my garden and it helps...double strand. I hook it into the fence that goes around the horse pasture. Make sure you get something with a kick to it..Ours is one below a weed chopper...almost knock you on your butt. (Just don't forget to turne it off when you want to get into the garden...)

Go to a discount store and buy some knee-high stockings, and then to a haircutters. Ask them for the swept up hair. Put the hair into the stockings and knot them, then hang them around the areas you want to protect.

You have to change these every couple weeks.
