no, in fact he should be executed for the crime as he's a zealot and hasn't made a decent movie since Braveheart

I am an atheist and part Jew and a devoted admirer of Mel Gibson and the body of his cinematic efforts. I must admit a certain bias in his favor stemming from his ability over the years to make me laugh and to make me cry and sometimes even to make me look at the world in a different way. If I am wrong in this, so be it. It would NOT be the first time. All this aside, I predict that he will come to his senses and see this happening for what it is -- the low point of his life. I believe he is more than deserving of society's opprobrium for the incident on Pacific Coast Highway and the vicious venality he unleashed on the arresting officer. And for this he must pay a price and he must find a way to exorcise his personal demons. I predict that he will rebound from this nadir of his existence and do so in a way that will endear him to the world as NEVER before and prove that his drunken belligerence is NOT the final measure of him as a man. Mr. Gibson: you have given me hope and inspiration at certain times in my life and now my HOPE for you is that you will get up off the mat and show yourself to be the decent and courageous man I have always thought you to be!

Arrests of adults are public ionformation in every jurisdiction in the United States.
Granted, not every arrest makes news. On the other hand, if one has set themselves forward as a public figure, then, by definition, things that happen to them publically belong in the public domain.
When we assess how we feel about another person, it is based on the totality of information we have available. This is just one piece of information. This isn't the totality of who Mel Gibson is.
It does define him as human and fallible. Perhaps that is a perspective that some folks might like to remain in ignorance of?

It's no biggy in the larger picture, is it?

Mel Gibson is an out-and-out anti-Semitic lunatic. He's 100% off-the-wall nuts and obsessed with Jews.

Anyone in Hollywood with any human decency will consider him persona non grata from now on.

(As if that inciting movie he made wasn't enough)

i think mel gibson is very full of lie. he think he's an catholic and don't use condom. so he has 7 children. is it crazy? don't follow someone who think they're right with not using a condom when they make love. hey, does mel gibson a normal guy? is it sin if he does masturbate? if mel gibson has a good religion. he can use their power and money to show love to the world. not only religion.

NO way. What makes him better then the rest of us. If it where one of us we would be locked up and no question asked. This is where celebrities get off thinking hey I make movies, Music or what ever and they think they should get a break just b/c the entertain us. Well Hell I got kids and have to support them so I should be able to go out and drink and drive and do what ever the hell want to do. NO WAY lock his butt make him pay a fine ( which I am sure it wont hurt his as much as it would one of us) and make him do what ever the law is in California. Anyone who thinks he should get off or ahve it kept in confidentail should think about what if he would ahve hit your mom, dad, sister, brother, cousin, grandma, grandpa, dog, cat, kid, spouse. Should he get off from that too..???

No. He got arrested, using the resources of the community to process him. That public has a right to know as they're paying for it.

Then he should have not drove drunk. He could have killed someone. If he doesn't want his life in the spotlight then he shouldn't have become a star.

It's not like it was a secret that if you become famous then your business will be everywhere. He knew what he was getting into.

What we don't see, is the Jewish caused pressure on his life and career for making the movie. It obviously was a real thing and was building on him. When drunken, it all came out.

Absolutely not. Most everyone's criminal history is a matter of public record. We should not make exeptions for celebrities, regardles of how nice they are.
