There was a question asked and people said animals don't have souls. I can't believe that!!! My dog is family he talks to you when he wants something and he yells at you when he doesn't get it. I love him so much and he loves the whole family. Right now he is pestering me cuz I'm on here and not playing with him. Isn't ther somewhere in the bible about the animals being in a better place too???? I thought there was but haven't really read much I am going to tho. I guess my question is how do you believe that your pet just dies? They have to have a heaven too God wouldn't treat something like that. My belief is tha my dog is going to doggie heaven and I think that will be my heaven too.

AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm Spring weather. Those old and frail animals are young again. Those who have been maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

Some of them here by the Bridge are different. These pets were beaten, starved, tortured, and unloved. They watch wistfully as their friends leave one by one, to cross the bridge with their special person. For them there is no one, no special one. Their time on earth did not give them one.

But one day, as they run and play, they notice someone standing by the road to the bridge. This person wistfully watches the reunions of friends, for during life, this person had no pet. This person was beaten, starved, tortured, and unloved.

Standing there alone, one of the unloved pets approaches, curious as to why this one is alone. And as the unloved pet and the unloved person get nearer to each other, a miracle occurs, for these are the ones who were meant to be together, the special person and the beloved pet who never had the chance to meet while on Earth. Finally, now, at the edge of the Rainbow Bridge, their souls meet, the pain and the sorrow disappears, and two friends are together.

They cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

Your dog does so have a soul; all dogs do. Animals who dream have souls and your doggie dreams, doesn't he? Although not specifically addressed in the Bible, I believe dogs go to heaven because of their natural desire to love and be loyal to their owners. Those are human qualities that are very much a part of our spiritual make-up that qualifies us to get to Heaven. In the meantime, check out the website www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm and you'll find the best thing ever written about where all dogs to when they pass away. People are wrong; they do go to Heaven.

IF humans have souls - I said IF..... then I know my dog also has one. No doubt about it. There are little people inside those animals. We are animals. Our intelligence does not make that other wise. We were clever enough to invent gods and hence souls but we are animals just the same. Therefore I would say that less intelligent creatures have there own share of the global consciousness or spirit that we all share.
Don't forget.... that's IF...........

Animals totally have souls - human ignorance to suggest that we are the only living beings with souls just because we have superiour(?) intellegence.

Heaven would be filled with dogs, cats, humans, everything good on this earth because we live together now, would be bad to seperate us when we die. When I die I hope not only to see my mother and grandparents, but all the pets i've loved and lost too. Heaven wouldn't be heaven without my cats.

I am not going to tell you that. I read "Next of Kin" by Roger Foust and it really changed my perspective about such things. Animals definately have personalities, feelings, and a sense of morality. To me those things constitute what I think of as "soul". I can't necessarily think of a Biblical passage that relates to this, and I do read it a lot, but I know that God tells us in Job that there are many things that He doesn't explain to us, so perhaps this is one of them. I wouldn't worry about your pet, if God's eye is on the sparrow, surely it is on your puppy dog also. Blessings.

I know how easy it is to love a pet and be so attached to it.
The Bible in Revelation DOES mention that there will be animals in Heaven. It doesn't speifically mention if there will be cats, dogs, goldfish, lizards, cockroaches (ewww. I hope not)
But I do know that God has a plan for HIS creation. This you can count on.

This has lots of information on it.

I know I adore my 2 cats and couldn't stand to think that God does not care aobut them as well.

Animals Have Souls
>One widespread rationalization in Christian circles, often used to
>justify humanity’s mistreatment of animals, is thee erroneous belief that
>humans alone possess immortal souls, and only humans, therefore, are
>worthy of moral consideration. The 19th century German philosopher,
>Arthur Schopenhauer, condemned such a philosophy in his On the Basis of
>Morality.
>"Because Christian morality leaves animals out of account," wrote
>Schopenhauer, "they are at once outlawed in philosophical morals; they
>are mere ‘things,’ mere means to any ends whatsoever. They can therefore
>be used for vivisection, hunting, coursing, bullfights, and horse racing,
>and can be whipped to death as they struggle along with heavy carts of
>stone. Shame on such a morality that is worthy of pariahs, and that fails
>to recognize the eternal essence that exists in every living thing, and
>shines forth with inscrutable significance from all eyes that see the
>sun!"
>According to the Bible, animals have souls. Texts such as Genesis 1:21,24
>are often mistranslated to read "living creatures." The exact Hebrew used
>in reference to animals throughout the Bible is "nephesh chayah," or
>"living soul."

So in conclusion, everything that God saw and made was good. When man sinned against God, He passed his judgement and man started to hunt in order to survive on this earth. Because of that, everything changed and had sin. As so called (animal instinct) I believe that everything has a reason for life on this planet and I believe that all things were once good and that some animals are now wild while others are domesticated. I also believe that when an animal that God created dies that it goes back to its maker and lives as good with all that lives in Heaven!
Animals are a gift from God! Respect them and when you hunt," Eat what you kill", or that death will be in vein.

Religion says that animals do not have a soul, they have a spirit. Two separate things, with much respect. No one is saying that pets just die, hey just have a spirit where as people have souls.

every creature has a soul even dogs cause god made all of us with souls if god only made his people with souls that wouldnt be very nice god loves every thing and if he does he sould give it a nice and healthy soul to go with it the only reason they say that cause so they dont feel guilty when they murder an animal

Oh, don't listen to fools who turn spirituality into a gated community for only the "right" types. They are weak, fearful and feeble-minded people who haven't a clue about what the soul is.
