It would make anything sick!
I cant see a bear doing this unless you are forcing it down his throat though. I wasnt aware that bears were dumb. If you were trying to force it down his throat, well, you must be superman.
Well, cats like the taste of antifreeze so I guess maybe bears like oil. It will kill them pretty quickly though.

I would say if his oil was running low then not. If on the other hand he is fine in the oil department, then it might cause problems. How much oil are we talking about? Since it would taste rather bad my guess is not that much really. Anyway - I can't picture a black bear being very handy with a chainsaw so the whole question is plain old silly. Imagine a bear with a chainsaw. EEEEK.... No way!!!

Yes, my parents dogs once ate some chainsaw oil (they were young) and they were sick for quite a while, luckily they were ok but if dogs get sick I am certain a bear would!!

Possibly, depending on the amount. In the best case scenario it would just give him a bad case of diarrhea for a day. How did he get into the oil to begin with? Was it old/used oil or fresh?
