Weblogs can be safe and fun with just a little thought. Mainly you do not want to supply any information about yourself, friends, or family that can identify you or them. So " I went to the local mall to visit my mother at work" is ok, but "While visiting my mother who works at Dillards in the Southgate Mall on Hobunk Ave. in Tulsa", would be less than safe.

Yes it is absolutely safe to have you personal web blog, there is no problem with it but the only thing that you must keep in you mind is you should not violate the rules and the policy mentioned to you when you were signing up for the blog.
Other wise i don't see a reason for you to be afraid to start your own blog.

I think you have to be careful about how much information people could get. I mean, if your name and city are on there and say you were in High school and put like a picture on there in your school coat or something, people would know where you live, what school you go to and what you look like. Even on the safe side, be careful what you say because friends and family may figure out who you are!

yea, it's easy, just don't tell which city you live, the address, or things that will tell too much about where you live,like "I'm on the east coast, we're driving to Vegas this weekend so yea, this trip is going to be like a 3 hour drive" horible example....
in all honesty it's a blog, you really don't have to worry about online predators, they tend to swim in the IM section.
