I don't usually grow beans, but I am pretty sure you are suppose to kind of hill them up and have them have a trellis or a string for them to wrap on. I know you don't get that many from one plant. (Which is why I don't grow them, I have a small garden.)
I think this is a farmer's metaphor like knee high by the Fourth of July.

Yes it was in Quantum,Tx. I guess some people got bored and they had a bunch of beans lying around so they made a hill out of them. While doing this, they broke the worlds record for the biggest hill of beans. So if you are ever in the middle of nowhere Quantum,Tx stop by and see the great hill of beans!!!!!
