I don't know how they got there but it seems the hot TX sun has baked these spots into the paint. Really come out under neon light.Should I try the clay treatment or does anyone know of a good deep down non abrasive paint cleaner? I'm beginning to think Meguiar's is not that good. Is detergent and water the best way to clean existing wax off before making any attempt to clean the paint? Do I need to use something with small abrasives? I think these dirty spots are due to wind out of the west, and it will be in water condensing on your hood in the morning. The air is dirty in and around Dallas. The sun gets extremely bright and it's really hot around here, which I think adds to the baking in of the spots. Any help out there? Meguiar's tech rep was a bust.

This may possibly be the result of acid rain. I am not familiar w/ your area. Your best option would probably be a detail shop. It may need to be buffed out.

3M makes a good paint restorer, you should look in to getting it buffed out. You can do it yourself just be patient, get a good cleaner wax-or polish apply a small amount of polish to buffer pad and let the buffer do the work, don't apply to much pressure as it spins and I recommend doing a small spot first to see if it removes the spots. Don't use a high speed buffer if you have never buffed before you can easily burn the paint off if your not familiar with how it works. If this does work and the spots are removed then you should apply a good paint sealant so it doesn't happen again.
I have used 3M,zymol,Mothers,zybol
