As we all know, each planets has a different length of time (hours) in a day, and days in a year, depending on its orbit around the sun (or Star). If extraterrestial life from a different star or galaxy were to live in peace with human one day on Earth, how will they adapt to Earth's rotation and revolution around the sun considering that they are accustomed to their own home planet's schedule?

And vice versa, if human were force to flee Earth for survival sake of our specie, can we survive on a different planet's time schedule, considering we are accustomed to a 25 hours a day internal biological clock? Just a thought.

Over time all species adapt to suit their environment - look at bacteria on Earth that live in incredibly high temperatures. Places like these are where scientists are researching to try to understand what life would be like on other planets.
I think with time we would easily adapt to a different lenght of day - unless it was something way off like a year of daylight and then a year of dark.
Science fiction stories have portrayed our descendants who have lived on the moon for generations as tall and spindly with less dense bones because of the lack of gravity. So the opposite in theory would mean if you lived on a planet with greater than 1G we would gain bone density to cope and become squatter and shorter.
As for developing the ability to breath, for example, an ammonia or sulphuric acid atmosphere? Sounds pretty unlikely doesn't it. Or being able to push the limits of our bodies tolerances for extremes of temperature for that matter.

Books by Ian M Banks, particularly Excession portray life on other planets really vividly.

As for actually living in harmony with another species, no chance, we can't even live with each other sad to say.

Good question.

After my ex-husband died last year I became very interested in death and was at a friends house and saw a book by MICHAEL NEWTON, PH.D., called,"Journey of Souls". Very interesting about people who are hypnotized because of a problem that won't go away even with help from doctors. Mr. Newton hypnotizes them and finds out what the problem is and in the process discovered pass lives and life in between lives. He has a second book called, "Destiny of Souls". I strongly recommend these books. I feel much better about death as I used to be extremely fearful of death. Now that I have loved ones on the other side I am more curious.

My educated guess is that at first it would be quite uncomfortable and in some cases could cause both mental and physical problems. However in time people would adjust. Evolutionarily speaking it would take time for the rhythm of our internal biological clocks to set itself to the new conditions. There would also be other social and varying side effects but the nature of which I would not like to guess other than a lot of lousy night's sleep. That has bad consequences all on their own.
The aliens? Well from their point of view perhaps something similar (or not) but frankly they are guests on my planet and they can bloody well like it or lump it...... So there you little green midgets......... MHUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

for survival sake, humans will need to adapt to different time zone and have a different biological clock. however, to answer you main question...i think humans and aliens will not be able to live in peace together in the same planet. the reason is that even humans themselves are unable to live in peace now on earth..as such, how can they live in peace with other life forms on other planets ??

The Earth is over populated and under resourced as it is. In the year 2050, a global population of 9 billion is expected.

And not for nothing, didn't you see War Of The Worlds?

There is nothing in the universe that we can't do or learn with enough time.

Unfortunately, from these responses seems like we will need quite a bit of time.

As to their adaption - they may not have to or want to. Their lifecycles may be thousands of our years so why would they want to limit themselves as we limit ourselves.

Good thoughts. Below is something that might interest you.

Most likely no becauese our ways of living are different. Unless if you teach the aliens how to live on the Earth.

Living in peace is much harder than coping with changes in environment.

I am certain if your aliens could come up with a means to travel hundreds of light years, they could turn up or down the heat or lights as required by their biology.

Even if we simply built them special buildings.
