The City of London is very small, but normally when London is mentioned people are referring to the bigger region (also known as Greater London)
London is bigger than New York which is the biggest city in America, so London is hardly small.

Why are Americans so ignorant to the rest of the world.

City of London
Area: 2.6 km² (1.6 sq mi)
Population: 8,600
Density: 2,966/km²
Greater London
Area: 1,579 km² (609 sq mi)
Population: 7.5 million (2005)
Density: 4,697/km²

New York
City 1,214.4 km² (468.9 sq mi)

It is about as small as one's mind is. To those who look for life in a variety of activities, London is big indeed. TRo others it is merly the backdrop for the meaningless story which is their own existence.

Compared to the poulation of China, I suppose it is. But if eight million people is small to you for one city, then I would suggest Mexico City. Only I'm not sure you would like it quite as much.
