Parking Garage under Boston Commons is pretty good-sized and marginally less painful than parking in the heart of downtown.

If you're coming from anywhere in the suburbs outside of Boston, I would advise parking at Alewife station and taking the T into town. Parking is WAY cheaper than in Boston and you'll not have to worry about getting lost in all the construction while navigating through town.

Just about anywhere you want to go in Boston is within a short walking distance of a T station and anywhere there isn't a T stop, there's a bus, but downtown, you should be all set with the T.

The garage under Boston Common is conveniently located and I believe very reasonably priced. I believe many of the downtown garages have flat weekend rates as well. Or you could park at one of the outer subway stations like Riverside on the Green Line, Alewife on the Red Line or Oak Grove or Wellington on the Orange Line and then take the subway into downtown. Probably easier and definitely cheaper than trying to navigate downtown Boston by car.

You should take the subway there since it is hard to get a parking space. If you really prefer to park your car there, you can find some parking lots around the downtown area.

The garage under the Boston Common is a flat rate of $10.00 on weekends, and you could get everywhere from there or just take the T if you wanted rather than move your car.

If at all possible take the subway in to Boston. It's a lot cheaper and easier than trying to park in town.

If you don't have a permit to park on the side streets you will get a ticket. Mine cost me 75.00. If your staying outside the city take the train. You can walk and see all of Boston. Have a great trip.
