I am currently looking to upgrade my Inspiron 600m system. What parts of the Inspiron 600m can be upgraded, and how can I upgrade for the best quality-to-price ratio?

With a laptop, the only things you can upgrade normally are the memory and the hard drive. Most came with 512 MB RAM and a 40 GB hard drive so you don't have a lot of leeway there. Both are relatively cheap so both would be worthy upgrades.

Contrary to what another poster stated, upgrading the video system is not an option.

The Inspiron 600m is a laptop. The only thing you can do really do with it is add more memory.

A memory upgrade you can do yourself, and it will all feel brand new. Crucials memory selector.
You can upgrade your video card. Faster refresh. Better for games.
You can probably put a pentium 4 in, if the sockets compatible, with a faster clock speed.
If you replace the motherboard, buy a new computer.
I recommend as much memory as you can, the most bang for your buck.
