Culture that grows changes, It is good to keep good historical facts of culture.
But if it does not change from time to time it becomes stagnant and does not prosper, so try to swim with the tide.

Nonsense, today world don't let any Nation demolish the cultures of another Nation, no matter how small it is.
Who don't know the history of the Republic of Ireland!
The culture of Northern Ireland, a brave and courageous people,
certainly a shared Govt. is not to bring an end to the Irish identity, as you know it!
Can not be.

Is Ireland losing it's cultural identity, or is it just changing?

When blacks settled in England in the 40's-50's they certainly did bring their culture with them. But talk to their children, or their children's children, and you'll see how "English" they are. "Englishness" may have developed, yet it goes on.

Neither politics nor immigration will cause the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland to irreversibly cease to be Irish. Their roots are too deep.

surely a shared government can only bring about enriching the irish culture... not sure exactly what you are trying to get at. in recent years, the irish have got to great pains to preserve identity, for instance there is a huge upsurge in gaelic being taught and for the first time in generations people are emigrating to and not from ireland.

The Irish are some of the most proud and stubborn people I know and I like them for it :-)

As such, however domestic politics go, I'm sure an Irish Culture will always exist :-)
