I just graduated from high school a couple of months ago. I am going to college this fall, and will have a fresh start, as none of my close friends are going to the same school (but will still be close enough to spend time with once in a while). However, i still have one month of summer vacation left, and keep finding that i don't want to hang out with some of my old "friends" from high school. I say friends in quotes because they are people that were fun to be around at time, but i don't really like that much as friends. so, do i just not call them and possibly get them angry at me knowing that i will be leaving in the fall and won't have to see them (they are going to school far away)? or do i hang out with them once in a great while to passify them until i leave incase i run into them around town, etc.?

I know this question seems trivial, but this situation has been bugging me!

What's the purpose of keeping up these relationships? you could always have a "going away" party and leave on a good note.

Maybe you can busy yourself with some new activities that don't involve your friends. Perhaps you could leave town and visit with a favorite aunt or other relative you haven't seen for a while. If you're busy or away when unwanted friends call, you won't have to feel guilty because you simply won't be available. Good luck.

Just don't call the "friends" and only do things with them if you are invited. If they say anything about it tell them that you thought they didn't want you around because they didn't call you. You will see them less and it won't be perceived as a snub.

keeping friends is harder to find friend. never leave them and keep them for future.
