Wouldn't stop me! It would be nice to go and wish her well. You can have a good time. Just because she doesn't make an effort it doesnt mean you should lower your standards! Have a good time!

The first question is, "Why is he/she your best friend, if you know he/she wouldn't travel to attend your wedding?" So, the first issue is, this may not be your "best" friend to begin with. However, if you are in any way interested in being friends with this person down the road, yes, you should go to his/her wedding. If, as it seems, this friendship has been on the rocks, you have an excuse to, essentially, sever the relationship (by not going to the wedding).

If they wouldn't travel to be to your wedding, then they are not your best friend. It really depends on how much you really think about them. If you want to go then don't let the fact that they wouldn't, affect your decision. It doesn't sound like you two are that close of friends.

Nope; you should still go. It's your best friend! And even if you're not real close, obviously you still care about him/her enough to ask people on here what to do! I'd say go ahead and make an apperance...you don't have to stay long afterwards, but it will make a BIG difference even if you don't think it will. After all, it's a wedding, and a big deal to your best friend. Simply making an apperance is really going to make their day even more special.

I would go. Make a long weekend of it and turn it into a mini vacation. Not only will it preserve your friendship, but it will give you a time to relax with your family.
