I'm interested in becoming an EMT, who would I call to "jobshadow" for a day? I live in the Twin Cities, MN.

You generally need to be in an EMT program to do a "ride along". You could just contact an ambulance service and ask them, stating your hopes to become an EMT. You will need to be 18 years old to ride, for liability.

BTW, once you become an EMT, there is no job more satisfying than being a paramedic - it just pays squat..

I can hardly wait until I get my home paid off and I can do it again.

Contact your local EMT? or possibly Fire Department. Im sure their numbers are in your local phone book. You will have to find the number that isnt 911 :)

Oh, and I think its cool that you want to be an EMT.

emt's are the lowest paid and most under appreciated workers in the us...I'm not sure if you know that so just call your local hospital and see if they have a program where you could join them for a day...make sure you do your research on this profession before you make your final decision... good luck
