i have lost my desktop, task bar, everything, when the computer reboots it has one file open my documents, thus from it i have dnloaded a jet bar which reads my desktop , what happened?. it gets very annoying to load this after start up every time?

Can you press the "Start" button on the keyboard and get the Start Menu successfully? If you can, do so and go to "All Programs" ~ "Accessories" ~"System Tools"~"System Restore".
Then follow the screens to restore your computer to an earlier time. When presented with a calendar, choose a date that is bolded from at least one day before your settings were first lost. You want to make sure you choose a date when everything worked. Let it restore the pc, when done you should be back in business.

I recommend running the update on www.windowsupdate.com.
