T1-11 is very easy to install, here is the quick version:

nail( tack it to remove later) a level 1 x 4 at the bottom of the exterior that the siding will sit on to keep the siding level....

start on one corner and level the first sheet........be sure u start at the corner that the wall studs were laid out so that the end of the sheet breaks over stud.......

nail the siding every 6 inches on the studs....when u get to the end where the next piece will over lap the first dont nail on that stud until u add the next piece.....

then add another piece and start nailing at the overlap into both sheets...

keep doing this to the other end.....

tip: measure the wall ur about to run siding and divided the length by 4 to make sure u will not end up with a small piece to finish, like 3 inches or so....

email me if u need

Remove old panel, clean up completely for remaining nails.
if there are no shear wall panel or exttra layer of boards...do as follows:
If there is no insulation, this is your chance to insulate.
If you want electrical modification, do it now !
Install building paper (moisture barrier) using staples. I would put two layers, it is not expensive.
Start from one end and install your T-111, level every now and then.
If you need to join two panels vertically, you will need Z-flushing according to the thickness of your panels. You can find this in building materials section of home centers. Install bottom panel, Install Z flashing on top. Install upper board (when you see this flashing it will be self-explanatory.
Mark your stud locations and nail your boards onto them. I would suggest a distance between nails (use galvanized) @ 8" and just flush with the surface.
Caulk the seams (where boards butt to each other).
Prime and Paint.

good luck!!
