The poles would freeze. Tides would stop and there would be less wind events near the oceans.
It is very possible that the earth would suck in more debris from the asteroid belt. It is a fact that the moon has taken most of the hits for earth in the past The chances of a major collision with larger meteor an asteroid would increase dramatically.
Without a major disaster this will not happen for a very vary long time.

First of all Thank you for putting such an intresting question.
Life would have been very change if there was no moon, we owuld have seen no Tides (which are such a great amount of enerygy resourse which may be used in the future), no Tides mean no wave currents on the seasides and no surfing. The nights would be very very very dark if we have no moon, the moon supplies much much light even if it is hidden bisides the clouds. Moon has always been an attraction for the world, as it supplies great amount of SWEET light at night time.

There would be no life in the deserts if we have no moon because 100% of the people living and travelling in the deserts urvive due to moon, the reason is that when the night falls in the deserts one can find no dimension i.e. he does not know which dimension he is going, there seems no difference between North, South, East and west (i am talking about old days when there were no comapss)

Moon makes it possible for the bird and animal life to travell and see at night too. Jackals, owls and woolves live and prey (eat) at night time, so how would it have been possible for them if there was no light at night.

Dear questioner just try see spend a couple of hours in the moonlight and see how you enjoy and then select my answer the best.

My physics professor back in 1985 was obsessed with the moon and tidal forces. He claimed that without the moon there would be no life on land since the first amphibians lived at coasts with shallow water and it was the tides that forced them to adapt to amphibious life.

He might be right but I don't think so. Except for coastal ecosystems such as mangroves, I think life would be pretty much as it is now.

very creepy... have you watched the TIME MACHINE? it has the full depiction of the moon having destroyed... then afterwards, the end of the world.

if theres no moon, there will be NO light when night, especially when theres blackout!. Tides will be in great danger because there is no pull from the moon.

We would have no tides, that would kill many creatures, the food chain would collapse, and all would die, but the bacteria. The government wanted to test a large nuke on the moon that would blow it up, and almost did. Just little fact.
