As long as the browser is open on that computer, your page can probably be read by anyone who uses the same computer. If you sign in at home anything which was already on the screen on your work computer will still be visible unless you have an active screensaver with password protection, but any new additions (i.e. email sent from your home computer) will not show up unless (a) the computer remains connected, and logged in, and (b) the view is refreshed/reloaded.
In future:
use a screensaver with password protection, set to activate within a few minutes of the computer being idle, that way you can save yourself, and possibly your employer, embarrassment.

No they shouldnt be able to. Most servers automatically sign out (I am presuming you mean webmail such as yahoo) after a certain length of time. Also when you sign in at another location it would normally boot you out at the first location as most don't support one sign in at multiple places.
Easiest thing is to remember to sign out in the first place :D

If you left your system logged on at work, anyone with access to your computer can do anyting that you could do and it would appear that you did it.
You prevent that by logging off or shutting down your machine before you leave.
