You need to have your Nano connected first. Then click on the podcasts or other items you want from your iTunes list and drag-drop them onto the iPod icon in the "Source" menu at the left. You will see an icon with a red or green burst around it showing the number of selections you have chosen when you drag and drop them.

Sorry, no can do. You cannot play videos or podcasts on a Nano. You have to be content with viewing the podcasts in iTunes
