It's not like the actually physical experience but it's very arousing. My fiancee is a bit shy about this stuff but I actually got him to partake when he was in Fl for a week last year. He liked it a lot....and so did I!! Had great sex when he got home.

Yes it needs someone who can explain feeling and touches in real detail. make you feel as if you are being actually touched.
Even better if you do it with some you deeply care for.
Some ppl use phone sex to be closer to the they love, like love play.

To all the closed minded people... when you grow older and are ready to do other things with your partner than boring old bed-sex, you will look back and say "Gee, was I so young and immature back then..."
Phone sex can be better than masturbation when away from you're lover (business trip or something). You get to pretend you are actually together, so with a good imagination, you can have some real fun.

It's kind of boring unless the other person is master of imagery and metaphor. Then they might make it interesting.
For the most part though, I find it very lame and definitely not as good as the real thing.
