Naming them is one hell of a job. You may be aware of this, which is why you were probably asking to have them named, but just in case - there are colour swatches out there which rty to capture all the shades, and last time I looked, they were able to give you just under 16 million shades. Good look naming that with ... how many words does the English language have... uh... 221.000? Duh...

No. There is too many, infinitesimal in fact. Same for all colours.
Makers of paints, clothing, cars etc provide colours' names to lend character, personality, quality etc to their sales pitches. E.g., who'd want to buy "mucky brown" or "phlegmy snot green" for walls, dresses, 4x4s etc? The Post Office claims to have copyrighted "The colour red", by the way, so watch out in the reds area!
