k.. so ur doin ur 12th class i suppose..

i was doin this stuff last year...
its really simple..

now to test charge.. u need either attraction or repulsion...
but.. attraction can occur even thru induced charge..

but induction always leads to attraction unless otherwise specified in a circuit...

so.. my pal.. repulsion is a sure test for electric charge...

hope its clear..

Hello Jason, it is so clear in the expression itself. V = k Q / r In this expression 1 C is hidden Since V is defined as the energy required to move unit charge ie 1 C of charge W = V * 1 If you move q C of charge, then W would become V * q Otherwise V = W / q V the electric potential with unit J/C or volt W the energy or the electric potential energy with unit J q, of course, the charge in coulomb In general, in Physics, the energy spent towards doing some work would be stored as potential energy. As we lift a body of weight mg through a height h, we perform mg h amount of work. Hence this is stored as gravitational potential energy mgh Important note is that mgh is gravitational potential energy difference between the points where the body of mass m has been moved against gravity.

dude its so simple,
Imagine that u have a magnet that is u have something that has both the charges, so take it to an unknown element, place it near the magnet one side at a time if both of em are attracted then it is just a piece of metal but if one is attracted and the other repelled then that too is an object with an electric charge cause
"LIKE CHARGES REPELL AND UNLIKE CHARGES ATTRACT"
you should have learnt it in ur 7th grade coz i learnt it then & i'm in my 9th grade.

It could indicate a magnetic field. Like poles repel.

because attraction can even occur due to induction
