Yes, most computers that are selling recently do have DVD roms. They even come with a DVD burner so I'm sure you can burn DVDs as well.

I'm just a little disturbed that they didnt list the system details on the website.

Oh wait, they did list it:
Optical Drive Speed

24x 16x 24x CD-RW/8x DVD-ROM
8x DVD+R/4x DVD+RW
8x DVD-R/4x DVD-RW
2.4x DVD+R DL

It does come with a DVD reader/burner.

YES. All new generation laptops will include DVD-ROM drive. That is the minimum standard in the market now. Do not buy laptops with CD-ROM drive only. They are out-dated. I own a Acer TravelMate laptop and it comes with DVD-ROM drive.

You will only need to pay a little bit more in some cases to upgrade to a DVD-writer.

Check their specifications before you make your purchase.

Most laptops on the market now do come with DVD drives, and the more you spend, the more likely it is to be a DVD burner. Subnotebooks like my Fujitsu P1510D do not come with an internal optical drive, simply because there is no room to put one.
