hmm, of course if she eats the cake and swallows the ring, she will then have to crap into a plastic bag and prod & poke it to retrieve your gift, this may dampen the romantic atmosphere a little.

OK, all of the girls on here will tell you to come up with something yourself because we, by nature, believe that you have the same capacity as women for such things and that if you really cared you would automatically be endowed with such ability...
although I am a girl I will not tell you this because I know that you are not built the same and that's perfectly okay.
I don't really have any specific ideas but I will say this: make a list of all of the things that are important to her and build a plan from something relating to a specific interest. Like, if she is interested in scuba diving, incorporate that, even if it's taking her on a scuba diving trip, and relate the things she loves into your love for her, etc.

Send her on a scavenger hunt all over the town/neighborhood. At each location, have a friend of hers there with the next clue. So when she arrives at the final destination, she has an entourage. Of course there will be others waiting too. Then just pop out and do it. That is if you want a big production and she would like it. If not, just do what is in your heart.

Here's an idea: Take her somewhere that is special to the two of you (where you first kissed, the location of your first date, etc.). Create a special moment (e.g., going for a walk after dinner) in which you tell her how much she means to you and that nothing would make you happier thant to spend the rest of your life with her. Pull out the ring and get down on one knee. All the best to you :-)

why do u need others to tell u how to propose to your girlfriend? she is your girlfriend u know her the best. u would know what pleases her the most & appeals to her. so why not use your imagination & propose to her in your own unique original way, instead of taking ideas from others. just be yourself, be original. she would love that more am sure when she narrates about your proposal later to others!
