I had to download my pics to a cd. When I add them back into my computer ,the files show up as the name of file,ex: 980012,ending with $@. ex: 980012$@. and cannot be viewed.How can I convert to view the pictures?

If they are indeed picture files, then go to where the picture is in your folder. Then go to FOLDER OPTIONS, then VIEW tab and make sure you check the option to show your files WITH their extension.
Rename the file to 980012.jpg and it should let you view it. If it was originally a gif file then name it 980012.gif.

Try changing the filename to eliminate those characters, and/or add a valid file extension like .jpg or .gif.
