Many tourists and over-seas travelers who want to or have visited South Africa, say the crime we experience is the same around the world... did you know the latest release figure showed that crime in South Africa in 8x higher than the states who have 4x the population we do. id you know that 1/36 murders are solved in South Africa and nearly 85% of armed robbers get away with the crime. @ least in the states if you kill or murder some one justice will be served, @ least in States & Eu they will investigate and hunt wanted criminals. If you don't believe me, remember, by next week saturday an aditional 370 people will have been murdered in South Africa statSA shows, over 670 women raped and over 800'000 in tax stolen per week........ but yeah we only live in it, what we know....

What i will comment on is that it is true that in the States if you commit a crime - justice is served and they will do everything possible to catch these terrible criminals. Where as here in South Africa people get away with murder! Justice is not served!!! Which means that more and more people are committing crimes because they know that they wont get punished for it!

Justice has to be done!

I lived in Johannesburg for 3 years and saw some quite nasty things ... the crime is very bad and was advised to carry a Gun for "Self protection" ... This i did ... just in case ..
I don't think it will ever change as most people have nothing ... Even now with Black & White mixing you still have "Self segragation" and this brings with it tention and miss trust ..

The bigest problem is the Goverment ... I was offerd Full resident statous if i was willing to pay for it ..! ( R10,000 ) no qusetions asked .!!
Even the police want a "Bung " .... I got a Full FAC ( gun licance) by paying for it .. (R500 ) ... they didnt even check my passport.!..i just gave my name / address / and where i work .

Get rid of the Bent officals and SA would be one of the richest countrys in the world..

And the worst part is that Interpol say the official Government figures are under stated. They claim "only" 20000 murders per year whereas Interpol put it at more like 40,000. Pick what you like but the poor citizens are under siege from criminals.
