Every element that naturally occurs is inside the human body, but not all of them are essential. The most common elements are oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen. Here is a rough breakdown:

Oxygen 65%
Carbon 18%
Hydrogen 10%
Nitrogen 3%
Calcium 1.5%
Phosphorus 1.0%
Sulfur .25%
Potassium .20%
Chlorine .15%
Sodium .15%

All living things are made up primarily of Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Phosphorous and Sulphur. Though other elements are included.
The formula of their relative compositions vary from one organism to the other.

Generally it is the environment in which the organism lives that determines its elemental make-up.

There are millions of organic compounds, each with their own formulas, that go into making living beings. All of the organic compounds contain carbon, most contain hydrogen, many contain oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorous, sulfur and numerous other elements. All living organisms contain amino acids, most linked to form DNA. Viruses contain just RNA, but the debate still goes on as to whether viruses should be considered "living".

living things are complex and most are made of a large percentage of protein, carbohydrate and fats. water also constitutes a large proportion.

to break it down specifically to elements, most living things are Carbon based, with Hydrogen, Nitrogen and a small percentage Sulphur. Trace elements like iron are also present.

All living things contain: Carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, phosphorus and sulphur. Many other elements are found as traces, but these are just as essential. They include: sodium, potassium, chlorine, iodine, iron, copper, magnesium and others.
